Edson Duarte: cada um decide como utilizar adornos em seu corpo

A Câmara examina o Projeto de Lei 1582/07, do deputado Edson Duarte (PV-BA), que proíbe qualquer prática discriminatória e limitativa de acesso a emprego, ou sua manutenção, contra pessoas portadoras de tatuagem e piercing. O projeto modifica a Lei 9.029/95, que proíbe a adoção de qualquer prática discriminatória e limitativa para efeito de acesso a relação de emprego, ou sua manutenção, por motivo de sexo, origem, raça, cor, estado civil, situação familiar ou idade.

Segundo o autor da proposta, a discriminação atenta contra a dignidade humana, ainda que seja "prática comum, em especial contra aqueles que inovam, que se expressam de forma livre, transgredindo alguns conceitos tradicionais".

"O fato de portar ou não tatuagem ou piercing não interfere na competência do indivíduo no exercício de seu trabalho", ressalta. Edson Duarte acrescenta ainda que "cabe à pessoa decidir sobre como utilizar adornos em seu corpo, e qualquer restrição disso fere o princípio da não-discriminação".

Tramitação
O projeto tramita apensado ao PL 3980/00, em regime de prioridade, e será analisado pelas comissões de Trabalho, de Administração e Serviço Público; e de Constituição e Justiça e de Cidadania. A proposta está sujeita ainda à votação em Plenário.
